Another Kind of Moth
Wednesday, May 27, 2009
I saw this little creature sitting on the trailer floor. This moth doesn't mind while I was taking pictures of him. I was able to point the camera lense so close to this little guy.

We were not able to go down in Dana Point last Saturday because my husband was so busy finishing some of the electrical wiring for the entertainment center and some of the insulation so that it will be ready for the drywall today. He wanted to come down there either but he was so tired already. I just don’t want him to drive if he is tired and it will be dangerous for us because it will take at least an hour to get to Dana Point.
Here are some of the pictures of my husband working on the insulation and electrical wiring. He did most of the work though he hired some contractor to do some other job. He is planning to do the stone work around the front of the house, showers and landscaping. I’m so proud of him!

All the greens that you see is the famous Headlands in Dana Point, California which is just below our complexIt’s been 5 months since we haven’t been to Dana Point. The last time we went there was after we went to Brian’s Christmas Party. Since January, our vacation rental in Southern California is fully booked. We are renting it for a week to guests who want to stay away with hotel rates and want to have a private condo that they can share with their family and friends. For a fully furnished condo with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining area plus private patio is quite cheaper to rent than hotels. If you are going to book a hotel, you will need 2 rooms if you are a group of four but renting a vacation rental in Dana Point you only need to book one unit for a group of six.
Anyway, it is becoming more popular now to rent this kind of rentals and we are happy that our vacation rental get booking since January and we are almost fully booked for this summer so we are not sure if we can still go there to get away for a while this summer. I checked our booking calendar and we have one night open today since our guests from Europe will be checking in after 3PM tomorrow. We usually rent it from Saturday to Saturday but they already booked their flight when they inquired about our availability.
So, I asked my husband if he wants to stay one night at the condo today. We can go there anytime today because our guests for this week already checkout at 10AM but my husband can’t promise me if he can make it because he has to finish the insulation of the house so that his contractor can start the drywall by Monday.
I am really looking forward to get away from this trailer for awhile especially that the weather is getting hotter everyday. I hope that my husband can finish the insulation today so we can go there this afternoon and have some family time. I want him to go out for while with us so that he can condition his mind and body again and not to think too much about the house.

Friday, May 15, 2009
One of our friends, Jennifer emailed us last time that somebody took her purse inside her car by breaking the car’s window while it was parked outside her friend‘s house. They took her purse with all her important documents, credit card, debit card and some cash. She immediately reported it to the police that day. Then the next day, she got an emailed with the pictures of the persons who stole her purse and was trying to use her Prepaid Mastercard at Macy’s, but the police were not able to catch them that day.
So, Jennifer printed out flyers with the pictures of them and posted it throughout Riverside. She was worried that they might use her Prepaid Debit Card which she just reloaded the day before it was stolen. She was planning to use it to buy some new stuff for their house that week. She doesn’t usually carry cash if she go to her clients to work on their taxes, she just carry Prepaid Credit Card to buy something from the store, groceries or at the restaurants but she said that she was in bad luck that day.
Then, few days later, she got a call from a manager at Market Broiler. The manager said that he recognized the two customers from her flyers and wanted to give her a call. The two was trying to order food by using her Prepaid Credit Card, so before they can enjoy their meal that night, Jennifer and the police arrived and catch them.
We are proud of her because she is really brave lady!

Summer is just around the corner and I asked my husband last time if he is ready for hot weather already. Last summer we had a record of 100+ degrees here in Southern California which was really hot. He asked me if we have available nights in our condo so that we can hang out there even for a night and enjoy the beach and our morning walk along the coast line. I told him that we are pretty much fully booked this summer and there is no way we can go there. I suggest to him why not go to Myrtle Beach Resorts so that we can get away with the construction zone for a while. I’ve learned about Myrtle Beach Resort from browsing the internet the other night and I like to go there and let our daughter enjoy the sand with her beach toys that I bought today.
Since my husband don’t have much time to sit in front of the computer all day to check some nice hotels where we can book in advance, he just asked me to check it for us yesterday but I don’t have much time to browse either because I am taking care of our baby girl. Today, while our baby was taking a nap, I checked Myrtle Beach Hotels and the information of each hotel. In the pictures, their bedrooms are nice with the ocean view. I like to have an ocean view room. So I saved the pictures so I can show it to my husband so that we can plan our vacation soon.

Sunday, May 10, 2009
It is my first time to celebrate mother’s day today. Our baby Stephanie will be 6 months old by May 13. Today, it looks like an ordinary Sunday but every time I look at our daughter, it is not just an ordinary day but a wonderful day. I can’t believe how days passed by. I can still remember how big my belly was when I was still pregnant with her. How she moves every single minutes inside my tummy especially at night that she is supposed to be sleeping but wide awake by moving a lot inside. She kicks here and there while she was still inside.
It is a great feeling when she can say the word “Mama”. I sometimes said to myself that I am really a mother now and here is the little one in front of me calling me mama and trying to reach out her hands to me so I can help her stand up.
I love being a mom even though it takes a lot of hard work. I love to wash her in the sink while she is enjoying the water by kicking her legs to make some splash. I love to change her soiled diapers. I love to wake up in the middle of the night to prepare milk for her. I love to play with her, laugh with her and learn new things with her. I love buying baby stuff with her and try them on and see how lovely she is with those cute little dresses. I love to feed her with solid foods even though it is messy at first and stain her clothes. I love to wash her clothes and fold them neatly. I love to rock her and sing lullaby while she is drinking her milk. I love to walk her out so she can see the nature, trees, birds, insects, flowers and play with our dogs. I love to watch her playing in her crib while I do the dishes, cook the food and do the laundry.
For me, these endless tasks will not make me tired forever. I know my mother did all these things to me when I was a child. I love her!!!

Tuesday, May 5, 2009
When I first came here in the US my husband introduced me to his friends and neighbors. I even met his next door neighbor Bob and Fe whom Mike treats as a second parent because they are been so kind to him. Every time Mike needs something for his garage, Bob was always there to help him so when the time I met them, he was not in good shape because he said that he is schedule for hip replacement in the couple of weeks.
After his operation, we thought that everything will be fine but he became more ill and can’t eat. His wife told us that his knee operation was not really successful as they thought it would. Some of their grown up kids advice them to go back to the hospital, so they did. But the hospital didn’t recognize their complaint so they hired a durom lawyer to stand for their case.
We sometimes visited Bob to their house and give support for their case. They said that it is an issues on Zimmer durom cup that the surgeon put but went loose and they can’t sue the doctor for that so they filed a durom lawsuit.
It took them a couple of months to finalize the case and they were glad that they hired a durum lawyer to stand for their rights.
We missed them and we are planning to visit them one of these days because they haven’t seen our daughter yet.

My husband’s mom died last February this year and I’m sure wherever she is at right now, she is happy looking down to us. It was very sad for my husband because he is trying to finish this house for her that we are building right now so that she can move with us once we got the Certificate of Occupancy from the County of Riverside. But his plans for her didn’t happen.
One time, we received a packet about Term Life Insurance for his mom. It came from our other mails. Usually this kind of mail, we just tossed it in our trash can because we don’t need or didn’t apply for it. It say’s in the packet that his mom was pre-approved for Life insurance rates and all she have to do is sign it and mail it back to them. Well, I guess she can’t do it anymore and she doesn’t need any insurance.
Then yesterday, when I was sorting out our old mails I saw again this packet and asked my husband if he wants me to toss it into the trashcan or put it on his mom’s file. He asked me to check their life insurance quotes and see what best offer they can give us. He said that he was thinking to apply for Term insurance for us. He came to this thinking because what if something happened to us so he needs to prepare for our daughter’s future.
