Rattle Snake near the Driveway

The other day, my husband was clearing up the brush using his Bobcat down the street right across our driveway. Since it's been raining here in Southern California, the weeds are getting thick along the road so he decided to clear it up. He saw this old sign and wants to put it in a trash can. He grabbed the sign and was surprised to see a rattle snake under it! The snake didn't move. It was setting still so my husband put back the sign and leave. He then went up the trailer so tell me about it. I asked him if he get scared. He said that he just said "oh!!!" Ok!! I put the sign back and leave".
Then yesterday afternoon, he went back where he saw it to check if the snake is still there and there it is so he took some pictures to show me and asked me to send it to one of our neighbors who is an anthropology.
My husband always reminds me to be very careful once our baby can walk already because snakes can get anywhere and camouflage with the surroundings and looking for warm spot during cold weather. He said to look out first before we go out the door or garage.
We are also planning to bring our dogs to a seminar where they can teach dog how to avoid snakes.
