STEPHANIE MAE

Thank you to all you congratulated us for having our new bundle of joy - STEPHANIE MAE. At long last the painful labor was over but as most of you said, she is worth it! Yes, Indeed!

Here is my labor and Stephanie birth story:

I know for sure that I posted here that I really want a normal delivery for fast recoery but my birth plan that I wrote for my labor was not followed because of medical reason. Here is my birth story why I gave birth by C-Section...

I stared having some mild pains around my back and lower abdomen and light spotting last Tuesday, November 11. I had schedule for my prenatal check-up that day but unfortunately we were not able to make it on our time so they reschedule me for another check-up on Thursday November 13 at 2:10PM.

Wednesday, I had spotting again and mild pains, so my husband and I decided to prepare our things so we can go to the hospital later in the afternoon. The pain was on and off so I was thinking that it might be a false labor but I was concern about the spotting. I told my husband that we will try to see my OB first on Thursday and see what she will advise us after the check-up whether go to the hospital or wait for another days before my true labor begins.

I went to bed around 9PM Wednesday night but the pain was getting stronger and the spotting was getting heavier. I wake up my husband around 12:30AM and told him maybe it is time to go to the hospital already and not wait for my schedule at 2:10PM that day. So he prepared all the things we needed for the hospital and I was trying to call the Labor and Birth Department of Inland Valley Medical Center to inform them that we are coming but no body was answering the phone. It was around 3AM when we arrived at the center and they asked some information from me, and since I am pre-registered they just asked when my due date is and how far I was in my contractions and they let me in to the Examinations rooms.

The nurse hooked the fetal and contractions monitor to my belly and monitored it. She said that my contractions were long and it was between 5-6 minutes but I was still 1cm dilated. She observed it for about an hour and calls the doctor on call to see if they will admit me or just send me home since I am not yet fully dilated though I was having strong contractions already. So they decided to send me home so I can get some sleep to prepare for the true labor. But I can’t sleep. I was walking back in forth inside the trailer and did some breathing technique but the pain keep getting stronger every minute. They said that I have to call my OB if my water broke, if I’m bleeding heavily like 1-2 pads, with high fever, the contractions is 2-3 minutes apart.

It was 7:30AM when I decided to heat some water and put it in a small bottle so I can use it as a hot compress for my back. It helps a lot every time I felt the pain at my back, so I decided to lay down for a while and take some rest, but after 5 minutes, I felt a gushing fluid coming out so I was shouting to my husband who just woke up and was on the phone that my water just broke so time to go to the hospital as soon as possible.

I was admitted around 9:15AM. The nurse hooked the contractions and fetal monitoring to my belly so she can monitor it again. We told her that we were just there last night but only to be sent home. Since I told her that my water broke already so she said that she have to admit me then. She asked me to get a urine sample and if I can showed her my soaking pad. She checked how much I dilated but I was still 1cm dilated and told us that she was feeling something wrong about the presentation of our baby so she asked the head nurse and Dr. Calinisan to check me. They said that they can’t feel the head of my baby but her head was facing down. They just can’t figure out what is the part of her body that is right in front of my cervix so they decided to check my baby’s presentation by ultrasound….

..............I will continue to post her birth story tomorrow, baby is crying now.
